Norwegian filmmakers Joachim Roenning and Espen Sandberg will helm the project

The upcoming “Pirates of the Caribbean” sequel has lost its release date.

The fifth installment in Jerry Bruckheimer’s blockbuster film series has been pulled from Disney’s 2015 calendar.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” had originally been slated to hit theaters on July 10 of that year, but on Tuesday the studio re-listed the release date as “unset,” according to Variety.

Shooting is still scheduled to begin in fall 2014 with Johnny Deppcontinuing his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Norwegian filmmakers Joachim Roenning and Espen Sandberg will helm the project. The duo’s most recent film, “Kon-Tiki,” received a best foreign language nomination at the 2013 Academy Awards.

The previous four “Pirates of the Caribbean” films have taken in a collective $3.73 billion in global ticket sales, 온라인카지노 while 2006’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” became the first Disney film ever to cross the $1 billion mark at the box office.

But there has been speculation that Disney is now reluctant to produce “Dead Men Tell No Tales” after the most recent releasefrom Bruckheimer and Depp, “The Lone Ranger,” turned into a box office fiasco. With a production budget of at least $215 million, “The Lone Ranger” took in just $243 million globally. Critics weren’t impressed either. The film is considered one of the biggest flops of 2013.
